Op zondag 7 september viert Utrecht feest: het UITFEEST!

   Het jaarlijkse UITFEEST! is altijd een bruisende happening met muziek, literatuur, theater, dans, beeldende kunst, fotografie en film op bijna 100 locaties in het centrum van de stad! Vrijwel alle Utrechtse culturele instellingen presenteren wat ze in huis hebben of wat men van hen kan verwachten in het nieuwe seizoen.     

Steevast luiden wij tijdens het UITFEEST! het nieuwe seizoen in met een groots overzicht van kunstenaars waar de galerie haar naam aan te danken heeft; realistische kunst van de bovenste plank met namen zoals onder meer WALTER ELST, BASHER, EDDY STEVENS, CON VAN VELSEN en vele, vele andere trouwe gezichten van de galerie. Ook presenteren we dan nieuwe kunstenaars, zoals dit keer het verfijnde beeldhouwwerk van de jonge Britse kunstenares RACHEL ANN STEVENSON. 

  Naast hapjes, drankjes en Livemuziek zal de kunstenaar MARTIN-JAN VAN SANTEN ter plekke bezoekers portretteren! Wie wil, mag voor zijn ezel plaatsnemen en even ervaren hoe het is om  ‘schildersmodel’ te zijn. Als het schilderij naar uw zin is, kunt u het aanschaffen voor een feestelijk klein prijsje. Spannend dus om uzelf eens vereeuwigd te zien!

Daan oude Elferink (1978) lives near Nijmegen. Early 2009 he bought his first camera, but really got fanatic when he came into contact with urban exploring. He searched on the internet for a location and together with a friend jumped into the car to drive to Belgium. He was immediately impressed with the beauty of decay and the artifacts showing the history of the building.
At the moment he works together with a group of urbexers (urban explorers, who explore abandoned places) and together they explore different sites. He loves every minute of the process, from the preparing , travelling, the very moment to arrive and enter into the building, the shootings, to finally share the work with the audience.
Urbex means lots of contrasts; a dark room with daylight shining inside. A camera cannot capture these contrasts and for that reason urbexers usually work with HDR (High Dynamic Range) processing. HDR means taking 3 to 5 exactly the same pictures, with different exposures. In the darkest photo’s the lightest parts must have good exposure, in the lightest photo’s the darkest parts must have good exposure. With software, you process these pictures to one.
