The work from Stephan Konings is intuitive, he works from body motion and the coincidences that the material produces. He carefully works out the evocative images that derive in this way. Because he works from his body motion, the works are often of monumental format. The images that are created are not random; he gives it meaning, his perspective, emotion, manner, works through his fine motor skills. Secondly, he selects the resulting images and maneuver them. He tries to provide his images with a meaningful charge. The exact meaning for the viewer is not important to him. As soon as the work has that charge, it is independent.
